Several closely watched Bitcoin indicators have turned positive at the same time, giving traders fresh reasons to watch for a broader recovery. MVRV momentum has flipped green, weekly MACD has moved above zero after 44 consecutive negative weeks, and analyst sentiment has become dramatically more bullish. Yet Bitcoin’s price and institutional flows have not fully confirmed the shift.
Momentum Indicators Turn Positive
According to BeInCrypto, Bitcoin’s MVRV momentum oscillator turned positive on October 13, ending a bearish stretch that began in late 2025. MVRV compares Bitcoin’s market value with the aggregate cost basis of coins held across the network, making it one way to gauge whether the market is trading above or below broader holder valuations.
Bitcoin’s weekly MACD also crossed above zero after 44 negative weeks. Historically, similar changes have sometimes appeared near major market turning points, but the record is mixed. A positive MACD shift in 2023 was followed by a substantial rally, while a similar signal in 2019 ultimately preceded another major decline.
Sentiment Has Moved Faster Than Price
CryptoQuant’s Analyst Consensus Index has also changed sharply. Among 164 analysts tracked by the platform, the bullish share reportedly rose from 37% in early July to 84% by October 13.
Bitcoin itself has not matched that enthusiasm. BTC recently traded around $81,000 to $82,000 and remains below its late-September high near $87,000. That creates a noticeable gap between improving momentum indicators and actual price confirmation.
ETF Flows Remain Too Small to Confirm the Move
Spot Bitcoin ETF flows are telling a similarly cautious story. U.S. funds recorded approximately $5.1 million in net inflows on October 15, with BlackRock’s IBIT bringing in about $16.8 million. However, other funds offset much of that buying.
More importantly, the positive day was followed by roughly $82.4 million in net outflows on October 16. The previous session, October 14, had also seen about $261.4 million leave the funds. That makes the October 15 inflow look more like a pause in selling than the beginning of a strong institutional accumulation trend.
TradingYADA Note: A Bullish Signal Is Not the Same as Confirmation
Some coverage describes Bitcoin as showing “bull signals everywhere.” The underlying indicators are real, but that description risks overstating what they currently prove.
MVRV, MACD and analyst sentiment are all pointing in a more constructive direction. ETF flows briefly moved positive as well. But none of those signals guarantees that a sustained rally has begun.
A stronger confirmation would come from several pieces reinforcing one another: improving momentum, sustained ETF inflows, higher trading prices and Bitcoin holding above important resistance levels. At the moment, the signals are aligned — but the conviction behind them remains limited.
$83,400 and $87,000 Become the Next Tests
Some technical analysts are watching approximately $83,400 as an initial hurdle, followed by the recent $87,000 area if Bitcoin can continue higher. Those should be treated as conditional technical levels rather than guaranteed targets.
The more important question is whether Bitcoin can begin converting improving indicators into sustained price strength. If institutional flows strengthen while BTC establishes higher highs, the bullish case becomes easier to defend. If ETF redemptions continue and price remains trapped below recent peaks, the current signals may prove to be another false start.
For now, Bitcoin is giving traders several reasons to pay attention — just not enough evidence yet to declare the next leg higher underway.
